Volunteers needed for Eventide’s gardens
Residents and familys look forward to enjoying the beautiful gardens each year at Eventide. They provide bursts of color across the campus, creating perfect spaces to reminisce, visit and enjoy the outdoors.
You don’t need a green thumb and schedules are very flexible. Plus, you would be making a big difference in the lives of so many.
If you have time to share and would be willing to help, please call Kaley at 218-291-2258 or email kharms@eventide.org

Return to Normal Water Usage:
Frozen Water Service “All Clear”
Over the past week, the number of frozen water service lines for Moorhead residents has diminished. Moorhead Public Service (MPS) would like to thank residents who avoided water service line freeze-ups by trickling their water. Residents who have not experienced a frozen water service may stop trickling their water. However, to prevent further disruption in your drinking water service, MPS encourages residents that have experienced a frozen water service to continue trickling water until April 1, 2014.
Specifically, residents with past experience of water service line freeze‑ups and/or with very low water usage should continue running a trickle of water from one faucet to prevent their water service line from freezing up.
If a noticeable decrease in water pressure occurs or if rusty-colored water is noticed, you should immediately begin flowing water until pressure returns to normal, then maintain a trickle of water.
The possibility of freezing water service lines will continue until the frost is out of the ground. Unfortunately, MPS cannot predict how long this will last or where frozen service lines will occur.
If you suspect that your service line is frozen, please call MPS’ Dispatch Center at 218.299.5474 after‑hours or 218.299.5400 during business hours.
Firearms safe and secure at the HCSCC Museum
Moorhead, Minn.,– The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County has installed a museum-industry-standard cabinet to secure and preserve their firearms collection. They received funding from a grant through the Fargo Moorhead Area Foundation in 2013 as well as contributions from private donors for this project.
According to Lisa Vedaa, the collections manager, “The cabinet holds 14 long guns – it provides better security and organization for our firearms collection and provides an extra layer of protection from dust and fire. Our current collection will pretty well fill it up, but we will continue to consider offers of donations of firearms that have significance to the history of Clay County.”
Executive director Maureen Kelly Jonason states, “We are grateful for the support from FMAF for our preservation work.”
