The Clay County Board of Commissioners designated The Extra as the official county newspaper for 2017 in action taken Jan. 3.

In the memorandum of understanding, The Extra will be responsible for printing legal information submitted by the county.

The Extrawill share announcements and proceedings with the other newspapers in Clay County. The other newspapers are not obligated to publish the information.

Commissioners named the Clay County Union as the newspaper for notices and listings of real property taxes and penalties. The Barnesville Record Review will publish the first printing of the Clay County financial statement and the Hawley Herald will publish the second printing.
