Children and parents were lined up at the Moorhead Center Mall on Saturday, March 28th to find eggs and visit with the Easter Bunny.
The lines formed long and fast for the early Easter Egg Hunt that was held at Moorhead Center Mall, sponsored by Moorhead Parks and Recreation. Although it has been held at various locations, this event has been happening the “last couple years” stated Shane Kosloske from the Sojourn Church. Some activities Saturday included families taking pictures with the Easter Bunny and, of course, an Easter egg hunt. Children ages 0-10 went out in groups of 20 to pick the eggs and put them in a big plastic bin. The eggs were not filled so all hunters received a prize which was either a trinket or candy. Many wasted no time running out to the area and finding as many as they could out of the one thousand plastic eggs.
“Yes, one hundred” said Julie a 6-year-old girl. Julie believes she had found 100 eggs as many other children found the same amount or many more. Many other activities around the mall were set up and staffed by the Sojourn Church. There was a booth and many tables where balloon animal making was set up, as well as other arts and crafts activities for all ages to participate in.
Although the event was just five hours long, there were parents and children laughing and having fun throughout the mall. If you didn’t get a chance to participate this year, mark your calendars for next year!
