Moorhead City Council
Moorhead is going to have more Fun & Games in the coming year, thanks in part to a property tax exemption approved by the city council at its meeting Nov. 25.
The tax break applies to a new building in the works by Fun & Games LLC, better known as Games To Go. The inflatable game company rents bouncy houses, inflated slides and other attractions for birthday parties and events.
Owners Brian and Barry Bach plan to construct a second facility next to their home bae at 1655 Main Ave. SE in the coming year. The 4,200 sq. ft. building will provide storage space and an area for cleaning the games.
It is also expected to house a manufacturing operation, where employees will cut large vinyl sheets and sew them together into new games for sale outside the Fargo-Moorhead area. The firm expects to grow its five-person staff by two to handle the off-season operation.
According to economic development administrator Amy Thorpe, the property tax assessment approved by the council will amount to $14,400 over three years. Construction is planned to begin in February.
