n Friday, May 25th a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. for the Grand Opening of the newly-renovated Seven Clans Casino. In a five-phase project, Seven Clans Casino began a momentous undertaking in renovating the entire casino floor, and its 50’s style Malt Shop. The newly-renovated facility has the aura of a Las Vegas-style facility, and guests will be pleasantly surprised at the new spacious casino floor, sensational lighting, and increased numbers of exciting new slot machines. In recognition of this event and celebrating all those who made it all possible — their guests — Seven Clans Casino will be giving away $30,000 in a promotion called Facelift which runs from May 28-June 29.
In visiting the newly-renovated facility, the first thing I noticed was how spacious the casino floor seemed. It was such a change from the tight quarters of past and, as Interim Marketing Manager Randy Thunder gave me the tour, I kept commenting to him at how spacious it seemed. It was very comfortable and inviting and, having visited Las Vegas in the past, the new casino floor seemed very comparable to even the best that Las Vegas has to offer. The finishing touches were still being put on the newly-renovated Malt Shop, but Randy got me a sneak peek and, WOW, I have to say it left me speechless. The 50’s style Malt Shop was just that. Without giving too much away, I can tell you that when you walk into this Malt Shop you will think you have been taken back in time to the 1950s. It is very nicely decorated with 50’s memorabilia and is a must-see when you plan your visit to Seven Clans Casino Thief River Falls.
This Memorial Day weekend will be one to remember at Seven Clans Casino. As well as the Grand Opening of the newly-renovated casino, Seven Clans will also be holding its 8th Annual Powwow beginning on Friday, May 25, and running through Sunday, May 28. Grand entry begins at 7 p.m. Friday. You will be able to enjoy traditional dancing, drums, art, and food at the Powwow, and what a great way to enjoy your Memorial Day weekend without travelling far.
Beginning in June, Seven Clans Casino Thief River Falls will begin a new Summer Concert Series. It kicks off with a phenomenal show on Friday, June 15, with the Four Tops and Martha Reeves. The two Motown legends will share the stage and have the crowd dancing to the tunes of the 50’s. It proves to be a great night of entertainment to begin the Summer Concert Series. In July, country music legend Loretta Lynn will grace the stage on Saturday, July 14. For 50 years, this country music star has told her story as the “Coal Miners Daughter” and her music is a rags-to-riches story that has taken her to the top of the charts year after year. In August, Seven Clans will once again host its Blues Fest. This event on Aug. 25 celebrates the Blues and will have top-name entertainers from the Blues genre.
