Savory take on a Midwest favorite

From the Kitchens of Amy & JJ

Sloppy Joe’s are one of the best easy summer time go-to’s. Well, sloppy joes, slush burgers, or BBQ’s… whatever you call them! A quick google search will produce many other names and even some controversial origins.

This recipe comes from Renae Gefroh of Fargo, ND and has become my favorite. I tend to think most sloppy joes are too sweet and this recipe offers a savory take on the Midwest favorite.

Sloppy Joes

2 pound ground beef

2 med. onions

1 tsp Italian Seasoning (no more)

1 tap salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1 Tbsp mustard

2 Tbsp brown sugar

1 cup ketchup

Brown ground beef, drain. Add seasonings, simmer and serve hot on a bun!
