S.G. Reinertsen’s Nagel Receives Regional Leadership Award

Tiffany Nagel

In late January, the Minnesota Elementary School Principals’ Association (MESPA) awarded S.G. Reinertsen Elementary Principal Tiffany Nagel, the Western Division Leadership Award for 2025.
“I’m incredibly proud to be a part of the S.G. Reinertsen community,” said Nagel. “The positive and supportive culture we’ve cultivated is truly inspiring. From the friendly smiles of our staff to the kindness and respect shown by our students, it’s evident that we’ve created a nurturing environment where everyone feels supported, valued, and welcomed.”
Presented annually, the Division Leadership Award goes to principals who demonstrate exemplary leadership in their schools, communities, and within their division. They embody transformational leadership, propelled by genuine care and dedication to their students, staff and communities.
According to MESPA, this award recognizes Nagel’s exceptional leadership, dedication to fostering a positive school culture and her commitment to building strong relationships within the school community. It highlights her exceptional work in making S.G. Reinertsen Elementary a vibrant and successful learning community. The organization added that her ability to foster a positive environment and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders has made a lasting impact on the school and its students.
Mrs. Nagel is in her second full school year as principal at Reinertsen, where she previously served as assistant principal for six years—with principal Josh St. Louis. In that time, she has honed her leadership skills as a school administrator.
“As an assistant principal, I was privileged to work with a supportive and collaborative principal and other administrative colleagues that helped me feel empowered to make decisions,” Nagel added. “I was encouraged to work with teachers, staff, and parents, which is vital for gaining valuable experience. The district provided support through professional development that was tailored to continuous growth and refinement of leadership skills.”
Tiffany is one of 13 recipients of the MESPA Division Leadership Award for 2025. Previously, she had been nominated for the Minnesota Outstanding Assistant Principal Award with the National Association of Elementary School Principals. She also currently serves on MESPA’s Education Political Action Committee.
