Offered by West Central MN
Small Business Development Center
The West Central Minnesota Small Business Development Center will be providing trainings on QuickBooks, each of varying levels of proficiency, to be held at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. Due to popular demand, WC MN SBDC will be providing a second Beginner training and an Intermediate/Payroll Module.

The Beginner level teaches the fundamental basics of QuickBooks including setting up and customizing QuickBooks, creating and editing reports, reconciling checking accounts and tracking credit card transactions.
The Intermediate/Payroll training is designed to improve accuracy in payroll processing, become more efficient in inventory management, and to use information in QuickBooks to manage the business better.

Presentations of the Past at the Comstock House
The Comstock House at 506 8th street south will be hosting Presentations of the Past lecture series on Thursday evening, August 7th at 6:00pm and again on Thursday August 14th at 6:00pm.
August 7th Dr. Rinita Dahlin (MSUM) will discuss archaeology excavation and exploration of the Comstock Grounds. MSUM Students have worked on the property for two summers to uncover the grounds of the Carriage house, any remaining building materials, and the road leading from 8th Avenue onto the Comstock Grounds. Dahlin will share her findings and discuss her work with the Comstock House.
August 14th Dr. Angela Smith (NDSU) will deliver her presentation on Public History and Fargo’s Most Famous Madam. In the fall of 2013, NDSU students and Smith conducted research and produced a documentary, “Prostitution and Fargo’s Most Famous Madam.” Still intrigued by the woman and her unexpected story, Smith has continued to research Miss Massey and discovered that she owned several properties, including the Crystal Palace, an 11-bedroom brothel that opened in Fargo in 1889. She was a financially successful businesswoman who was very open about her profession in a very white town on the Northern Great Plains.
Both presentations will be free with free will donation.
The Comstock House was built in 1883 by Solomon and Sarah Comstock and remains in pristine condition as a well preserved, Queen Ann Victorian Style home with much of the furniture and home decor still in-tact.
