“Performing Arts”

Summer was on my mind the other day thinking about neat things I plan to do around town in the coming months. Last year, I attended several concerts at Bluestem and had a great time. Moorhead has an asset with the performing arts venue, especially for hosting outdoor concerts in the summer. As I mention this to friends as an option, many have never been to a show or performance.

When we think economic development, we often hone in on a manufacturer, warehouse, production facility, and many others, but in reality what draws and adds to economic development is the entire culture of the community. Our entire region is fortunate to have a strong arts and culture presence with multiple options both winter and summer. Companies choosing to locate operations in an area consider the quality of life for their employees and what level of enjoyment there is outside of work. I’ll be honest, prior to moving to Moorhead two years ago I had no idea how many different options we had to experience art and performances whether it be dance or a band.

So when you are considering what to do this summer outside of typical outdoor activities, check out some of our performing arts venues.

See you around town!
