Peanut Butter Oatmeal Dream Bars

There are lots of recipes that are shared on Facebook and I like to try some of them. This is one that I will do tomorrow; I have all the ingredients except for the Reese’s Peanut Butter bars. I could walk to the store and get some, but I walked once today already, it was so sunny and bright; it was deceiving as the wind was COLD. Anything with chocolate appeals to me and the peanut butter makes it even more tempting. It would be great to hear from some of you with your favorite recipes that I could share. My email address is included in the column so if you want to email recipes to me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Dream Bars

1 Cup melted butter

1 Cup brown sugar

1 Teaspoon soda

1 1/2 Cups flour

2 1/4 Cups quick cooking oatmeal

1 Teaspoon salt

1/2 Cup peanut butter

1 Can sweetened condensed milk

1 King size Reese’s Peanut butter cup bar, cut into pieces

1 Cup milk chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees; line 9×13 pan with foil sprayed lightly with oil. Combine butter, flour, salt, oats soda and salt until crumbly. Set aside one cup of crumbs and press the remaining mixture in the foil lined pan. Bake 350 degrees for 10 minutes. While that is baking combine peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk in a small bowl. Spread this mixture evenly and carefully over the baked crust. Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top and bake another 15 minutes. Remove from oven and add the cut Reese’s bar and milk chocolate chips evenly over the top. Bake another 5-10 minutes until lightly browned. Cool before cutting into squares.
