The year is already off to a busy start just one month into 2015. Interest in new projects in Moorhead is coming in at a steady pace. So far we have already seen the opening of Noodles & Co. with Jimmy Johns following. Downtown remains a focal point for the City and is a part of my efforts as we go forward. Several prospective projects have shown an interest in downtown as growth along the river gains increasing visibility, especially with flood protection beginning on the Fargo side; Moorhead is positioned well for development along the river.

Last week, a consultant for downtown development shared ideas with the Moorhead Business Association at their happy hour event at the Northsider. This was a great opportunity for the community to hear what visions may be in store for downtown. Conversations are happening and this is a terrific step in the right direction to see our City continue its growth trajectory, especially in downtown.

Spring is in the air at least this week and before we know it the thaw will be upon us. It should be an exciting construction year for Moorhead once again.
