Clay County Solid Waste is now accepting small quantities of electronics and fluorescent bulbs for recycling from non-profits and businesses for a charge. This year-round program will replace the annual spring collection of non-residential bulbs and electronics by Clay County. Fees are posted on the Clay County Solid Waste website. Only businesses and non-profits located in Clay County are eligible for this program.
Electronics and bulbs are accepted at the Clay County Resource Recovery Center (RRC), 3322 15th Ave N, Moorhead, and the Clay County Landfill at 3301 190th St S, Hawley. Hours for drop off at both locations are 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday and the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the Month from 8am-11:30am. Fewer than 300 hundred units will be accepted from each business or non-profit. For more than 300 units contact a commercial contractor.
Fluorescent bulbs should be boxed for transportation. Please do not tape bulbs together. Electronics accepted include TVs, monitors, computers, printers, and computer peripherals. Cash, check, and cards are accepted for payment. There is a $1.95 transaction fee for card transactions.
Residential covered electronic devices (CEDs) collected as part of the State of MN recycling program will still be accepted for no charge. CEDs are TVs, computers, computer peripherals, printers, DVD players, and VHS players from residences in Minnesota. Residential spent fluorescent bulbs are also accepted for no charge. Clay County Solid Waste only accepts CEDs and fluorescent bulbs from residents of Clay County MN.
