NDSU Tailgating Fargo Police Seeing Minor Consuming Issues at NDSU Tailgating Events

FARGO, N.D. (Oct. 4, 2013) – The Fargo Police Department would like to remind tailgaters about the laws regarding minors and alcohol in the City of Fargo.

The Fargo Municipal Code prohibits persons under the age of 21 from purchasing, possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages within the city limits of Fargo. Any minor found in possession or having consumed alcohol must appear in court and may receive a maximum penalty of thirty days imprisonment, a fine of $1,500, or both. Fargo Police also want to remind minors they may receive additional sanctions from any universities or colleges they attend.

Fargo Police issued nine citations on September 7 and 13 citations on September 21 for underage drinking within the area of the FargoDome.

NDSU has a Football Tailgating Policy which states “under no circumstances shall persons under 21 years of age have possession of alcoholic beverages in the tailgating areas.

FARGO/MOORHEAD FIRE FIGHTERS RAISED

OVER $20,000 IN FILL THE BOOT DRIVE FOR MDA

Fargo, ND, On September 10-12, fire fighters took to the streets of Fargo and Moorhead at each Hornbachers to “Fill the Boot” for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Our local firefighters raised more than $20,000 to help find treatments and cures for neuromuscular disease and send local kids to camp next summer.

“We deeply appreciate the work fire fighters in both Fargo and Moorhead do for MDA,” said Executive Director Sue Wiger. “It does make a difference to all the people and families here who are living with muscle disease. They see these American heroes going out to support them, and it tells them they have strong partners standing by their side.”

Both Fargo and Moorhead fire fighters came together to Fill the Boot at 6 different Hornbachers locations throughout Fargo and Moorhead for a three day span. Fire fighters put their lives on the line every day battling blazes or rushing through traffic to help someone who has been badly injured. They have a sense of compassion for and service to the community that is demonstrated through their commitment to MDA.

IAFF became the first national sponsor for MDA in 1954, and since that time, fire fighters have raised over $500 million to help improve and enhance the lives of those living with neuromuscular disease. Fire fighters have raised money for MDA through their participation in the annual Fill the Boot campaign, as well as by sponsoring golf and softball tournaments. Many also contribute some of their vacation time each year to volunteer at MDA summer camps across the country.

Funds from the Fill the Boot campaign also help send 3,500 kids to MDA summer camp for a free week of lighthearted fun with other kids who are just like them. Many fire fighters become friends of the kids and their families, volunteering a week of their vacation time each year to go to camp and support their young friends.

AllSun Dual-Axis PV Tracker

AllEarth Renewables (www.allearthrenewables.com) released its AllSun dual-axis tracker last spring. AllEarth offers complete packaged systems, which include PV modules, an inverter, the tracker, and a remote system monitoring (all shippable on a single pallet).

Consumers can choose from 20-module (4,200 W) or 24-module (5,520 watts) model. Each packaged system is covered by a 10-year limited warranty, in addition to the 25-year PV module performance warranty.

Note: PV modules can be sourced separately. The AllSun tracker utilizes GPS technology for active tracking, thus it can track the sun even during cloudy weather (so that it is aimed in the correct position for when the sun eventually emerges).

The tracker is designed to automatically shed snow and to stow itself during high winds. The remote system monitoring provides users with daily, monthly, and yearly energy (kWh) production values via the AllEarth energy production webpage. The increase in system production for tracking systems (as compared to fixed arrays) can be up to about 45%, but as always, to get the full benefit of a tracking array, dawn to dusk solar access is required. All permit parking (Orange) will located above the ground level and available weekdays from 6 AM to 6 PM unless marked as 24-Hour Reserved.
