Moorhead welcomes public art installation

Aerosol artist Micah Leitel created an original work of public art on a utility box at the intersection of Center Avenue and 5th Street, just south of the Moorhead Center Mall. The Rourke Art Museum also invited residents – including Moorhead Mayor Del Rae Williams – to create their own aerosol art during an interactive art event on September 26.

“I think it’s great that the city of Moorhead is on board with this,” said Leitel as he added a layer of white paint to his painting. “I think it shows a lot of leadership. Then the people can have a chance to talk about it. It’s for the public to enjoy and be a part of it.”
