Brooks Cullen nets the overtime winner to cap a thrilling Boys Hockey home opener against the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks on November 30. Cullen kicked off the scoring in the first period, giving the Spuds an early lead. In the second period, Grand Rapids tied it up but the Spuds regained the advantage with a power-play goal. Evan Wanner then extended the lead to 3-1 before the end of the second with his first career goal. In the third period, the Thunderhawks mounted a comeback, tying the game with just one minute left in regulation to force overtime. The Spuds didn’t waste any time in OT, as Cullen tallied the game-winning goal just 32 seconds in, securing a 4-3 victory. Up next, the Spuds travel to Andover on Friday, December 6, to take on the Huskies, followed by a matchup against the Minnetonka Skippers on Saturday, December 7. (Photo/ Renee Grover)
