I went off of 3 nonprofit Boards after I was elected to this position. One Board that I’ve remained on has been the League of Women Voters of the Red River Valley, where I serve as their Vice President. The League is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. I like that.

This coming Saturday, April 12th, the League of Women Voters of the Red River Valley will be hosting a Legislative Forum at 10:30am at the Moorhead Library with Rep. Ben Lien, Rep. Paul Marquart and Sen. Kent Eken. Moorhead’s Charley Johnson will moderate. It will give the public the opportunity to ask and hear about issues that are important to us. There are a number of Legislative bills in the works that impact us directly and indirectly. For instance, Moorhead is one of two communities that are in the House Capital Investment Bill for Flood work. There are also some interesting bills that will help Moorhead directly in Economic Development.
