Closed November 11, Veterans Day
All Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) branches and LINK sites, including the Regional Office in Moorhead, will be closed on Tuesday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. Regular library hours will resume Wednesday, November 12.
Pangea—Cultivate Our Cultures
Pangea—Cultivate Our Cultures is a free, indoor, one-day, family friendly celebration of the tremendous cultural diversity in the Moorhead-Fargo community held at the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead, MN, November 8, 2014 from 10am-4pm. The festival draws community members together to learn about each other through sharing their artistic and cultural traditions.
On the Main Stage, different groups and individuals perform a variety of dance and music throughout the day. Entertainment this year includes the Four Winds (Métis duo from Turtle Mountain). Margreat Sam and Indian Dancers, Heather and Thistle, Kurdish Dancers, Polish Dancers, Sudanese soloist Deng Madit and more.
The performance of the Four Winds is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Lake Region Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund and the North Dakota Council on the Arts.
Parking at the Hjemkomst Center is reserved for the elderly and persons with disabilities. All others are asked to park at the Moorhead Center Mall north side near Herberger’s and catch a free shuttle over to the Center or in the American Crystal Sugar lot across the street from the Center.
HBA announces its
Builder, Associate of the Year
The Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead announces Carlita Dietz, Jay Dietz Construction, Inc., as the recipient of its 2014 Builder of the Year award, and Robin Swanson, Superior Insurance as the recipient of its 2014 Associate of the Year award.
These honors are presented each fall to recognize one outstanding Builder member and one outstanding Associate member for effort and work expended in the interest of his or her fellow members, Association and community. As a recipient of the Fargo-Moorhead awards, both winners will advance to the state-wide competition judged by the North Dakota Association of Builders. Winners will be announced at NDAB’s annual meeting in November in Grand Forks.
Veterans Day schedules for city offices, library branches & garbage collection
Fargo City offices will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, in honor of the Veterans Day holiday. The Fargo Public Library and its branch locations will also be closed. Garbage and recycling collection will run as scheduled and the Sanitary Landfill will be open on Veterans Day.
