The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County presents History Sundays with Steve Stark, an illustrated history program series for all ages at the Hjemkomst Center.

Stark will present on President Lincoln’s legacy and how his presidency influenced the development of the Great Plains. The laws President Lincoln implemented impacted the development of the Midwest and the rest of the nation from land-grant colleges to the Homestead Act, Lincoln’s legislature significantly contributed to Minnesota and North Dakota.

The presentation will run about 60-75 minutes and is appropriate for all school-age children and adults. The program is free and open to the public; however, regular admission rates to see the museum and exhibits still apply.

OPEN SKATE DATES ADDED

Moorhead Parks and Recreation will be adding two dates for Open Skate during the holiday season in addition to the normally scheduled Sunday Open Skate. Special open skates at the Moorhead Sports Center will be held on Wednesday, December 26 and Friday, December 28 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm each day.

Cost for open skate is $1.00 for youth age 17 and under, $1.50 for adults, $2.50 for families and limited skate rentals are available for $1.00.

Lake Agassiz Regional Library Closed December 23, 24 and 25 in Observance of Christmas

All Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) branches and LINK sites, including the Regional Office in Moorhead, will be closed on Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25 in observance of Christmas.

Crookston Library and Moorhead Library (the two LARL branch libraries with school-year Sunday hours) will be closed on Sunday, December 23 in observance of Christmas.
