THE PLAINS ART MUSEUM PRESENTS ANDY WARHOL FEBRUARY 2 – MAY 19
Plains Art Museum is pleased to present the exhibition Andy Warhol: Creating Myth and Icon February 2 – May 19. The first major solo Warhol exhibition in the Fargo-Moorhead area, Andy Warhol: Creating Myth and Icon brings to our region a nationally-known collection of Warhol prints held by Wesley and Missy Cochran of La Grange, Georgia. The collection features 36 screen prints, including two of Warhol’s last series: Cowboys and Indians and Myths, featuring legendary figures from Teddy Roosevelt, Geronimo, Custer, Annie Oakley, and John Wayne to Superman, Dracula, Mickey Mouse, and Santa Claus. The show will also include work from the Museum’s Permanent Collection and the Student Collection at North Dakota State University.

The Art of Collecting Dinner, Saturday, February 2, 5 – 7 PM; $50 per person. Come to hear an informal discussion with noted national art collectors Wesley and Missy Cochran, facilitated by Curator Megan Johnston. The Cochrans have amassed an outstanding collection of 20th-century and African-American prints on an “everyman’s budget.”
