The unmentioned stories in the history of Cass and Clay counties are the focus of the exhibit, a project of the spring semester museum studies class at NDSU, explores prostitution, bootlegging, divorce, the Ku Klux Klan and varied crimes in the area from 1971-1935.

A playground altercation between young boys brings together two sets of parents for a meeting that at first is diplomatic, but as the meeting progresses, and the rum flows, tensions emerge, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters.

Agassiz Audubon Society’s Heidi Hughes never gave them a thought – except at Halloween. When she finally did, everything changed. Her first close encounter with a Brazilian free-tailed bat left her captivated. She’ll tell you why and much more when she presents a special Agassiz Audubon program about Bats of the Red River Valley along with tips on how to become a “bat watcher.”
