Community Play Day:

Location: Rheault Farm in Fargo

Cost: Free

Take a Free Play Day! Kids will have fun playing yard games, making take home crafts, and climbing on the playground. Daycares are welcome. Adult supervision is required. This program is free thanks to Xcel Energy Foundation.

Park It:

Location: Elephant/ Percy Goodwin Park in Fargo

Park It Meet the Xcellent Art teacher at the park and create take home arts and crafts. The fun travels weekly to different neighborhoods throughout the summer. All the supplies are provided and different projects each week.

Carol Comstock Weiss Benefit:

Location: Park Christian School in Moorhead

Date: June 6

Time: 4:00 – 7:00pm

There will be a spaghetti dinner and silent auction for Carol, who was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, in 2011 it returned and further testing revealed cancer in her lungs, spine, pelvis, shoulders and brain. Please join us for a night to celebrate Carol and learn about her incredible journey of faith and perseverance while battling cancer for more than 5 years. If you are unable to attend the benefit, you may make a donation to the Carol Weiss Benefit Fund at any Fargo/Moorhead Bell State Bank and Trust location, or to: www.dakmed.org/lendahand.

Grand Forks County American Cancer Society Relay for Life:

Location: University Park in Grand Forks

Date: June 6 – 7

Time: 2:00pm June 6 to 2:00am June 7

Cost: Free for observers

Relay for Life is the signature event for the American Cancer Society. The Relay is a 12 hour event held to celebrate cancer survivors as well as remember those who have lost their battle with cancer. The Relay for Life is held at University Park, there will be entertainment and fun for kids and families from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Opening Ceremony at 6:00pm and luminary lighting ceremony at 8:30pm.

Eagles Fundraiser:

Location: East Grand Forks Eagles Club

Date: June 7

Time: 8:00pm

Cost: Donation

The Eagles Club in East Grand Forks will be holding a Potato Bar and Sloppy Joe Fundraiser. Live Music, Silent Auction, Bean Bag and Horseshoe Tournaments. All funds received will be used to buy back our building. All Ages welcome until 10 pm and open to the public.

Adults Adopting Special Kids Party:

Location: Trollwood Park in Fargo

Date: June 7

Time: 1:00 – 4:00pm

Cost: Free

Inflatable games, children’s activities, karaoke, photo booth, refreshments, information about the adoption process and more; free and open to the public.

Pancake Feed:

Location: VFW in Barnesville, MN

Date: June 8

Time: 8:00am – 1:00pm

Cost: $6

All-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage and eggs; proceeds benefit veterans’ programs.

Classical Music Festival:

Location: Rheault Farm in Fargo

Date: June 8

Time: 1:00pm

Cost: Free

Experience the sounds of excellence while enjoying a wonderful afternoon outside. Listen to free performances from the FM Symphony, FM Kicks Big Band, FM Chamber Chorale, Lake Agassiz Concert Band and Penny and Pals. Try your luck in the “Music Listening Contest” and experience the “Instrument Petting Zoo.” This event also features additional family activities and concessions. In case of inclement weather, the festival will be held at the Fargo South High School auditorium.

Trout Fest:

Location: Woodhaven North Park & Fishing Pond at 4406 44th Avenue S in Fargo

Date: June 9

Time: Registration 5:30pm, Derby 6:15 – 7:45pm

Cost: Free

Explore Woodhaven Pond and learn about trout and fly fishing! Youth will learn about fly fishing, casting, entomology, conservation, equipment demos and much more. An awards presentation will follow the derby. Nightcrawls are provided. This is a catch and release event. Pepsi products will be served while supplies last.

Fargo Rock Concert:

Location: Dike West in Fargo

Punk, Rock, Metal! Two bands! Three different nights! All ages welcome! Get your friends and come out to see the areas up and coming musicians. These shows are free and all ages are welcome to attend.

RiverArts:

Location: Memorial Park in Moorhead

Horse drawn wagon rides, art and craft vendors, food, hands-on activities and much more. Free concert by Post Traumatic Funk Syndrome and free pony rides.

Community Block Party:

Meet your neighbors at this fun family event. Sing your favorite karaoke song, play on inflatable games, take home a craft project and get your face painted. Enjoy free food while supplies last.

Magician Jeffrey Salveson:

He and his magic bunny will perform as part of the library’s summer reading program.
