Moorhead Public Schools
Moorhead Area Public Schools is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of district Assistant Superintendent of Business and Administrative Services, Kristin Dehmer, who has been named the 2025 winner of the the Richard Green Scholars Program by the Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA).
Dr. Dehmer won the award for her doctoral dissertation titled “The Relationship Between Mentorship, Career Pathways and Success in the Superintendency: A Comparative Study of Men and Women Educational Leaders in Minnesota.”
“It is an honor to be chosen for this award based on my research,” said Dehmer. “The topic of women and leadership is a personal and important topic for me. I have observed the underrepresentation of women in the superintendent position across Minnesota, as well as the lack of availability or quality of mentorship and/or support in career opportunities that build the skills needed to become a superintendent.”
MASA’s Richard Green Scholars program honors the scholarly work and professional development of Minnesota school leaders through the award of an annual recognition for the research, writing and presentation of one paper reflecting the practice of excellent school leadership.
As the recipient of this year’s award, Assistant Superintendent Dehmer will present her dissertation at MASA’s fall conference in late September in Duluth. This will allow her to share both her findings and her message with her statewide school administrator peers.
“I believe it is important to lift women up, both through the right mentorship experiences and the encouragement to take a risk to lead outside of their comfort zone,” added Dehmer. “Everyone has an important voice, and representation is important for our employees, students and the community.”
