Moorhead Area Public Schools is proud to congratulate the Moorhead High School Boys Hockey team on winning the Minnesota State High School League Class AA Championship at the Xcel Energy Center on March 8, 2025.
The top-seeded Spuds opened the tournament with a 7-4 come-from-behind win over #8 Lakeville South before claiming a last-minute 4-3 victory over the defending state champs, #5 Edina. Moorhead charged to an early lead in the championship game, then fended off a furious comeback by #2 Stillwater to lock down a wild 7-6 win and nail down the program’s first state title.
