Moorhead City Council member Chuck Hendrickson is seeking reelection to a third term in Ward 4. He has represented the ward, which encompasses parts of the eastern and southern sectors of the city, since 2013.
“I wasn’t sure about running,” he says, “but Moorhead has such tremendous momentum going right now. I’ve been around awhile through ups and downs. We’re on the upward climb right now.”
He cites as evidence the many wins for economic development – redevelopment of the Center Mall, revitalization of downtown Moorhead, the new apartments and commercial facilities underway at Interstate 94 and Eighth Street South, and the nearly complete SE Main/20-21st Street underpass, as well as the Clay County Resource Recovery Center underway in the northeast corner of the city.
The council member serves on the Clay County Solid Waste Advisory Committee, the Metro Flood Diversion Authority, the Metropolitan Council of Governments, the Moorhead Clay County Joint Powers Authority and the Public Service Commission.
Hendrickson and his wife Renae have four children. A native of Warroad, Minnesota, he graduated from Concordia College in 1994 with a degree in English writing and political science. He and his family have lived here for 19 years. He is employed by Aldevron as a technical writer.
