Grilled Peaches / Nectarines

From the Kitchens of Amy & JJ

Peaches and Nectarines are having a moment. Go into the grocery store, farmer’s market or even one of the groups selling right out of a semi and load up on these delicious stone fruits. A great dessert for your next BBQ! This delightful dessert is easy and has all the tastes of late summer nights.

BBQ’d Peaches or Nectarines

4 peaches or nectarines

1/4 cup brown sugar

Honey

Heat your grill to 400 degrees with one burner or area without flame below. This technique is called Indirect Heat.

Half the fruit and remove the pit.

Sprinkle the cut side of the fruit with the brown sugar.

Place the fruit cut side up on the area of the grill without a heat source below. Leave on the grill for 3 minutes. The brown sugar should start to melt on top.

Flip and place the brown sugar side down for 2 minutes. This should carmelize the sugar and give a beautiful look on the top with the grill marks.

Drizzle some honey over the top and serve.

Pro tip! Some whipped cream or Cool Whip make this sweet hot treat well balanced!
