Greeting fellow Veterans and supporters

Veteran’s Corner

Jason Hicks | Commander United Patriotic bodies
Fargo Memorial Honor Guard

It has been a very busy summer, with all the small-town parades and meetings about the various Veterans happenings its been crazy. There is a core group of us who are still able to march and as long as we are able, we will carry our nation’s colors in the parades.
Seeking volunteers, are you a Veteran who wants to give back? The Fargo Memorial Honor is currently seeking volunteers to help with ceremonies at the Fargo National cemetery. We are extremely flexible as far as plugging you in to a schedule. We supply all uniforms and training. I cannot convey the feeling of pride performing this sacred military ritual. If you are proud to be a Veteran feel free to step forward and help fellow veteran’s families at their time of need.
We recently topped a milestone at the cemetery. Over 1000 Veteran burials. This is a benefit earned by our nation’s defenders. There are several options available at the cemetery. Last week there was a group of employees surveying and marking the next area to be used. The success of this benefit largely travels by word of mouth. And it often surprises me that people aren’t aware that we have a National Cemetery just outside Fargo/ West Fargo ND, it will eventually be part of West Fargo proper. To put this in perspective, this is our Arlington National Cemetery of ND. Forever taken care of and maintained as long as we have a Republic. Through the efforts of many we will have a very nice building on this property, hopefully soon. There will be an area to get out of the elements and simply use a nice restroom. There is much more information to come out on this project and we are working diligently behind the scenes to make this vision a reality and the Fargo Memorial Honor Guard will be leading the way. Stay tuned.
