Veteran’s Corner

Giving Hearts Day is on February 13th. There are over six hundred charities to choose from. Your contribution is matched during GHD, which doubles the financial impact.
They have a plethora of charities. Go to givingheartsday.org. and scroll down to the search bar. You can type in animal, veteran etc. and several charities will come up. There you will also see a filter button where you can breakdown categories starting with addiction to youth. There is also a tab to donate and volunteer.
Take a look around and donate to something you care about. It’s the biggest day of giving in the region.
I’ve chatted with folks from Hairball. Hairball is for those under the proverbial rock the last twenty five years. Hairball is a “bombstatic celebration of arena rock”, Alice Cooper to Queen and everything in between. They’ve recently started giving out tickets to Veterans. Its their way of paying back to the Veterans community. Thanks!
On February 25th from 9-1 at the Fargo VA, 3rd floor auditorium. They are holding a “Heart Health Fair”. Not only will they have heart healthy living tips, they will also feature a introductions to whole health, chair yoga and have resources and information about many more programs. For more information they will be on 970AM Coffee Club on February 14th, at 1006 talking about it.
I’ve been asked so I’ll reply.
Pete Hegseth is really shaking up the Pentagon. One thing during his confirmation hearing that struck me was the fact we have currently forty four, four star Generals. At the end of WW2 we had seven. As of 1945 the total military had over twelve million in its ranks. Today it’s under three million. With many ranks there is dedicated staff, vehicles etc. Obvious there is bloating. I speak with many of my former troops that are now assuming leadership roles and am stunned by some of the training requirements today. Change is often painful, we owe the taxpayers a financially effective force.
