Matt Gilbertson has announced his bid for reelection to represent Ward 1 on the Moorhead City Council.
Gilbertson, a partner in Downtown Chiropractic, has represented the ward on the north side of the city since his election in 2020. He serves on the boards of directors of the Greater Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo Economic Development Commission, Moorhead Public Service, Oakport Township and the Board of Equalization. He is also a director of the Scott Tobolt Foundation and a member of the Moorhead Business Association.
In addition to his chiropractic clinic, now planning a new location in one of the first buildings under construction on the former site of the Center Mall, Gilbertson owns the Clubhouse Indoor Golf Lounge in south Moorhead.
“I want to help keep our city going in the right direction, as it is now,” Gilbertson says of his decision to seek a second term. “We’re getting one chance to do downtown Moorhead right. I want to continue to be part of that process.”
Gilbertson earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from NDSU and MSUM and adoctorate in chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He and his wife Kim have three children, Ashlyn, Tate and Ave, and two pets, Goldie and Winnie. He enjoys lake time with his family, golfing and reading.
