The air was icy but hearts were warm in the CCRI parking lot at 2903 15th St. S. in Moorhead on February 9. Individuals and teams braved frigid temperatures to take the polar plunge into a pool of water to raise money to enhance the lives of community members with disabilities.
The fundraising event was part of Impact Foundation’s Giving Hearts Day, an annual event that promotes and encourages a day of generosity to fund organizations that serve the community. It raised $63,000, surpassing the original goal of $60,000.
CCRI, which stands for Creative Care for Reaching Independence, has assisted individuals with disabilities since 1977. It was named the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber Choice Not-for-Profit of the Year in 2014. More information is available at creativecare.org.
