Fun at the Frozen Fortress, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., at Hjemkomst Center and Viking Ship Park. The day may (or may not, depending on weather) feature free cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals. Kiwanis of Moorhead Foundation Chili Plus, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in Hjemkomst Center. The service club’s annual fund-raiser features chili, hot dogs and all the trimmings – $10 for adults, $8 for students, and freee for children under 7 with a donation.

Beyond the Wonderland, 5-8 p.m. at the Lotus Center, 1401 8th St. S. Third annual winter fun and rave includes a team fort-building competition, snowball fights, firepit and dance with DJ IV, along with games and family activities.

“Uff Da It’s Cold Outside” Hotdish Time at the Moorhead American Legion, 303 30th St. N. Registration for the annual casserole contest begins at 11 a.m., followed by judging. Guests get to eat the entries beginning at 2 p.m. The event raises funds for the Veterans Honor Flights of North Dakota and Minnesota.

Freezin’ for a Reason – American Legion at the Moorhead American Legion. Volunteers spend the weekend camping outdoors to raise funds for Honor Flights. Friday: Music by Front Fenders, 7:30-11:30. Saturday: Sweet Saturday Morning doughnuts, apple cider and coffee, 8-11 a.m.; Soup Cook-Off, noon-2 p.m.; Corn Hole Tournament, 2-5 p.m.; music by Adios Pantalones, 7-11 p.m. Sunday: Legion Riders breakfast, 8:30-noon; Ice Cube Bingo, 3 p.m.; burgers all afternoon served by Sons of American Legion.

Winter Trail Days (depending on weather), noon -4 p.m. The Dakota Prairie chapter of the North Country Trail Association hosts an afternoon of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and ski-shoeing if the weather permits. Mini-clinics and refreshments.
