Flavor straight from the garden

From the Kitchens of Amy & JJ

Are you rich with a bountiful harvest in your garden? Or maybe you have neighbors who keep handing over tomatoes, onions and peppers? We have a recipe for Garden Tomato Salsa that has flavor straight from the garden. If you are missing any elements, try one of the local farmer’s markets to provide what you need!

Garden Salsa

1 small jalapeno (leave the seeds in for an extra kick

1/2 onion, chopped

3 garlic cloves

1/4 cup fresh cilantro (add more to taste preference)

6 tomatoes (size can vary) chopped

1 1/2 tsp Cumin

1 tsp sea salt

2 tablespoons lime juice

Add all ingredients, but the tomatoes to food processor or blender on “chop.” Get those ingredients well mixed and on the smaller side. Add tomatoes and process slightly – running too long will make it runny.

Pro Tip: Make the day before you plan on serving as the flavors will intensify in the refrigerator overnight. Serves well with lime chips or on your favorite dish like a breakfast burrito!
