Bryan Swenson’s desire to help others find the peace of mind while taking care of what’s important led him to become a Farm Bureau Financial Services agent. He was drawn to Farm Bureau because of their commitment to helping people protect what matters most and helping them prepare for the future.
Originally from the Perley/Hendrum, MN area, Swenson developed his work ethnic at a young age while working on his uncle’s farm and in his relationship with his grandpa. These positive experiences led him to explore the world of animal science at the University of Minnesota, Crookston, and later transferred and graduated from NDSU.
For the next 17 years, Swenson worked on the management side in the hog production industry, mainly in southern Minnesota and Iowa. He points out that pork production is an important component of American agriculture and an important part of the American diet and way of life. Even though he enjoyed his career, the long days, weekends, and the limited time with his family, he could not resist the opportunity to return to this area with his family.
A close church friend who understood Swenson’s desire to help others suggested he apply for a job at Farm Bureau Financial Services, where he could combine his agricultural background with his desire to help others. In 2004, with his wife Jenny and their six children, they began their journey north and haven’t had time to look back.
Even though Farm Bureau was founded to meet the unique insurance needs of farmers, today’s agents build relationships with people from all lifestyles to help them protect what matters most and prepare for their future. The company is a multi-line insurance company with a range of policies tailored to meet individual needs. Swenson explained that he particularly enjoys helping people find peace of mind so they feel confident that they are taking care of what’s important to them and their families.
He emphasizes that he doesn’t necessarily solve people’s problems. By providing the knowledge and experience to make insurance simple, he helps them to discover ways that are most effective and practical for them to deal with their own needs. Because his clients’ situations are all different, Swenson shared that the company does not offer insurance quotes online.
Swenson also emphasizes that he has worked in insurance and finance for 10 years and experience has taught him that for many people, insurance may appear complicated, but Swenson assures that it doesn’t have to be. As an agent, he will provide clients with the necessary information so they are empowered to make the important decisions about auto insurance policy as well as home, life or business insurance needs.
He is quick to point out that his sales associate, Gretchen Noraker, who has been a key reason for the agency’s success, is only a phone call away. Noraker handles the daily flow of customer contacts and will ensure that administrative requirements are completed in a professional and timely manner.
Swenson notes that it is important for people to include insurance in their financial plans. As much as we’d all like to think that “it’ll never happen to me,” the reality is that none of us knows what the future holds. Think about how you and your family would manage financially if faced with a major loss. If you’ve got an unmet need for insurance, then you should address it right away. Your family’s financial future is too important to leave to chance. Farm Bureau Financial Services is here to help.
