Entrepreneurship Center contracts awarded

Moorhead City Council

The Moorhead City Council moved the new Center for Entrepreneurship another step forward Monday, when it approved the firms who will design and construct it.
The innovative business center will be located within Moorhead Community Center and Public Library now under construction downtown. Its funding, however, is separate from the revenue generated by the half-cent sales tax approved by Moorhead voters two years ago. The U.S. Small Business Association awarded the city a $1 million grant to construct, equip and furnish the facility, requiring that those expenses be tracked separately for federal reporting purposes.
JLG Architects and McGough Construction are already under contract to the city to build the $41.5 million MCC/PL, and will also handle the business center.
According to community development director Kristie Leshovsky, design work will begin shortly for the Center for Entrepreneurship. It will be located on the first floor next to the teen section of the library. The floor plan and other details will be determined in coming months.
The Center for Entrepreneurship is expect to open along with the rest of the Community Center and Public Library in 2026.
