More than three dozen Moorhead, Fargo and West Fargo employers are lining up outdoors on Thursday, June 24, for the Moorhead Business Association’s Open for Business hiring event.
MBA director Sheri Larson says that next week’s event is not only a new twist in the association’s semi-annual job fairs and the first since 2019. A record number of companies, 37, had signed up as of early this week, with registration continuing through Friday.
“We’ve been holding these events twice a year at the Moorhead Center Mall, but we’re trying something new this time – outdoors, rain or shine,” she said. Following the successful example set by of co-sponsor Rural Minnesota CEP and Career Force in other cities around the state, this one takes place in the parking lot of the Vista Center for Education at 2777 34th St. S. Participants have the option of meeting in their vehicles or setting up tables.
Hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Two food trucks, Deb’s Corner and Windsor Waffles, will be on hand and begin serving at noon.
Among employers, schools, manufacturing, retail and service industries already planning to attend are the Glass Doctor, Access of the Red River Valley, Mac’s Hardware, Taco Bell, Holiday gas stations, Midco, Sanford Health and RDO Equipment, as well as Doosan, Strata Corporation, Red River Commidities, OK Tire, Trail King, Schwann’s and many others.
Employers can still register to participate at https://mhdmba.org/event-4325877.
