Dogs dunked at Doggy Dip

Dozens of Moorhead canines finally got their chance for a cooling dip Monday at the Moorhead Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Doggy Dip.

The longstanding tradition takes place on the day after the city’s public pools close to humans. Panting puppies could dive, swim and fetch in the cool waters of the South and Northeast Wading Pools … then dowse their amused pet parents after climbing back onto the deck.

Each dog – or, rather, his or her human – paid an admission fee of $4. All proceeds are earmarked to aid continued development of the River Oaks and Centennial Dog Parks.
