David “Dave” Wayne Weber, age 72, of Menahga, Minnesota passed away on February 20, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 8, 2025, at 11:00, a.m. at Salem Historical Church & Cemetery, Paynesville, Minnesota with public visitation to be held one hour prior. Services provided by Karvonen Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Wadena, Minnesota.
Dave was born on December 1, 1952 in Paynesville, Minnesota to Robert and Vonnie (Cossairt) Weber. He lived a full and meaningful life, marked by his love and dedication to his family, a love for mechanical things, and a passion for adventure.
Dave met the love of his life, Sharon Ann Sieben, in the summer of 1971. They were married on December 30, 1972. Dave’s adventurous spirit enabled them to live in several states during their first years of marriage, Minnesota, North Dakota, Idaho, and Montana. Dave was a member of the National Guard for six years after high school.
Dave was a devoted father and “go to” Dad. Whether it was helping his daughter purchase and remodel her first home or assisting his son with furniture assembly, Dave was always there when his family needed him. His willingness to lend a hand and share his knowledge left a lasting impact on those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his professional life, Dave was an avid motorcycle rider. He was a proud member of the Glacial Lake Motorcycle Club, where he formed lifelong friendships. Dave adventurous spirit led him to achieve the prestigious Iron Butt Certificate, completing 1500 miles on his motorcycle, in just 24 hours. His love for the open road was only surpassed by his passion for woodworking, which he pursued in retirement by starting his own woodworking business. Dave’s craftmanship produced beautiful, unique wood products that reflected his creative vision and attention to detail. One of Dave’s “happy places” was on many of the local lakes. He was an avid fisherman; his patience and dedication enabled him to find and catch many wonderful fish suppers. Dave loved to share his bounty, he gifted many friends and family packages of fresh fish.
Dave’s legacy will live on through his wife, children, and the many people whose lives he touched. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, daughter Son-ya (Todd) Gylsen of Glenwood, Minnesota; son Shane Weber of Orlando, Florida; brother Don (Sharon) Weber of Post Falls, ID, along with numerous sister and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents Robert L. and Vonnie M. Weber.
