A couple of our granddaughters are big UND hockey and Chicago Blackhawk fans and recently traveled to the twin cities for a Blackhawk game. They attend UND and I worry about them driving that distance to go to sporting events. Neither my husband nor I are into sports, but I will say that we were into the Bison game last Saturday. What a game! I did not know if the Bison would pull off a win to be four time champions and congratulate them on the win. We have been so disappointed in the Vikings these past years and have kind of lost interest in watching any games until Super Bowl. The best part of Super Bowl for me are the snacks, parties and commercials. The recipe this week is for hot ham and cheese sandwiches, with ingredients heated a crock pot; this would be a good addition to serve at your football parties.
Crock Pot Ham & Cheese
3 Pounds shaved deli ham
2 Pounds of Velveeta cheese
1/4 Cup butter
1 Can evaporated milk (1 2/3 cups)
Place cheese, butter and milk in crock pot to melt. Chop the ham into bite size pieces and add to the cheese mixture.
Heat until hot and all blended together. Serve on buns. The leftover ham and cheese mixture is good added to scrambled eggs.
