The Moorhead City Council Monday approved a plan to find the replacement for Ward 4 council member Steve Lindaas. He has resigned effective Aug. 31, when he will move to Washington, D.C., for a science and technology fellowship awarded by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Ward 4 residents who wish to be considered for the position may submit their applications through noon Friday, July 21. Links to the application form can be found online at www.cityofmoorhead.com and on the City of Moorhead Facebook page.

Applicants will be interviewed during the council’s regular meeting Monday, July 24. They will make recommendations at the following meeting on Aug. 14. Lindaas’ successor will then be elected by a majority vote and sworn in Sept. 11.
