Spanish Storytime with Sra. Mónica Oliveras: 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Spanish speakers and learners alike are welcome for a Spanish Storytime at the Moorhead Public Library. Join local Spanish Immersion teacher Mónica for stories and language exchane, free.
Winter Solstice Walk: 5:30 to 8 p.m. The Winter Solstice Walk will bring some light and cheer to the longest night of the year. The trail at Moorhead’s M.B. Johnson Park will be lit at 5:30 p.m. and glow until 8 p.m. Pre-registration is not required. Start your adventure at the small shelter, hot chocolate will be provided by Nexus-PATH Family Healing. Make your own glow in the dark necklace provided by River Keepers. Buy a festive headband that lights up to help support the event. A map of the event will be posted on River Keepers Facebook event page and news page on our website. This is a special way to experience the beauty of a riverfront park in December. Bring the family, dress for the weather, wear comfortable walking shoes, walking sticks are good for winter walking but not necessary, welcome to bring festive lighted necklaces and/or hats, and bring your favorite mug for hot coco while supplies last. Spud Girls Hockey Anniversary: Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Moorhead’s girls hockey program with the Spuds’ JV game vs. Warroad at 3 p.m. and varsity match at 5 p.m., followed by an anniversary social at 7 p.m. at the TAK Event Venue, 1710 Center Ave. W., Dilworth.
