Indigenous Canoe & Kayak Origins and Canoeing Basics: 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Join us and Minnesota Naturalist Paula Corneau for a presentation on how canoes were used and made by Minnesota tribes, as well as a canoeing guide for beginners. Free.

Moorhead Sausage Fest: 2:30 – 8:00 pm. Moorhead Presbyterian Church at 2900 5th St. S. A family-friendly event with Oktoberfest-inspired foods, drinks, live music, and games for all ages. Tickets include a sausage or hot dog meal with German sides and one non-alcoholic beverage plus event admission. Additional goods available for purchase. Kids 12 and under free, adults $20 pre-sale or $25 at the door.

Come join us and mingle with the stars of Fargo Public Library’s Northern Narratives and Focus. Partake in refreshments as you brush elbows with local writers and photographers whose work will be displayed at the Main Library.

Storytime + Craft: 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Join us for Storytime and a craft. Each week, we explore different themes with stories, songs, rhymes, flannel boards, and more. Storytime typically lasts for an hour and is geared for children ages 3-6, although children of all ages are welcome to join the fun. Craft supplies are provided free of charge.

Memory Café of the Red River Valley: 1:00 – 2:30 pm. Hope Lutheran Church South at 3636 25th St. S. in Fargo. Topic: Medicare/Medicaid with Attorney Susan E. Johnson-Drenth. Free.

Ask-a-Techspert: 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Library staff guides participants through free program navigating like phones, kindles, tablets, and laptops while assisting with tech issues. Will demonstrate downloading eBooks and eAudiobooks from the library. Free.

Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein is having its annual quiche breakfast. Will they be able to keep their cool when Communists threaten their idyllic town? Students $12, Adult $25.
