FMVA Visual Artist Talk, 6:00 pm @ Plains Art Museum in Fargo. Come hear Patrick Tupa at the next Visual Talk at the Plains Art Museum on Thursday, February 27 from 6pm-7pm. Patrick will discuss his background and how he landed in Fargo to be a Portraiture artist. Free.

Horizon Middle School (Grades 6-8) Performance of “Shrek,” 7:00 pm @ Horizon Performing Arts Center. 

Performance of “Women of Troy,” 7:30 pm @ Gaede Stage at MSUM. MSUM School of Performing Arts presents Women of Troy, which tells the story of the mothers, wives and daughters of slaughtered warriors in the war that led to the fall of the city of Troy. This play is a story of courage, resilience and hope in the face of utter devastation. $10-$20.

Friday, Feb 28:

2020 Member Gift Art Release, 6:30 pm @ The Rourke Art Gallery in Moorhead. Join us for the release of our Member Gift Art for 2020. Members are invited to celebrate and select from Annette DuBord’s “North Shore Memories” suite of lithographs. Not a member? Not a problem. This is the perfect opportunity to take out or renew a membership at The Rourke.

Saturday, Feb 29:

Time Travel Trivia, 2:00 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Join us for a fun game of trivia with a time travel twist. Win prizes as you compete with other wayward travelers and put your recall skills to the test. Bring your friends, but compete individually. Free.

Community Sock Hop – Benefit for Nikki Peterson, 5:00 pm @ Lodoen Community Center at 311 1st Ave. E. in West Fargo. Lindy of the North is joining forces with some West Fargo faculty and students, as well as our fellow dance communities in the region, to help out a wonderful teacher and dancer. This benefit starts off with a crash course in swing dance and will feature live music from Short Notice, social dancing, and a wide variety of performances. All proceeds will be used to offset the medical costs of Nikki Peterson. $3 for students, $5 for adults. No partner or experience required.

RRV Climate Action Meeting, 4:00 pm @ Comstock Memorial Union at MSUM. RRV Climate Action’s campaign for a climate emergency declaration has officially begun. We are gathering signatures on our petition to show that this community cares about climate and a sustainable future. Have you been wanting to get involved? Now is the perfect time to join us.

Heart-n-Soul Community Café Italian Dinner, 5:00 pm @ First Congregational United Church of Christ in Moorhead. Join us for an incredible Italian dinner from 5-7pm. Volunteer Chefs Leena Foo & Phillip Hoganson will be creating an Italian sausage baked ziti complete with Caesar salad & garlic toast. Volunteer Pastry Chef Nancy Kvamme is baking up a delectable cannoli cupcake to go along with this amazing Italian dinner. Bring yourself, bring a friend or family member and enjoy a taste of Italy right here in Fargo.

Maranatha Baptist University Madrigal Choir, 7:00 pm @ Brookdale Baptist Church at 1401 40th Ave. S. in Moorhead. Under the direction of Dr. David Brown, the Madrigal Choir of Maranatha Baptist University performs a wide assortment of sacred music including psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, classic works, and spirituals. The choir sings a cappella, or with handbells, wind instruments, strings, or piano. Free, but there will be a free will love offering received for the choir.
