MBA’s College & Career Fair, 10:00 am @ Moorhead High School. This event will be specific to business careers/programs and will run from 10:00am-2:00pm. 

Horizon West Grade 5 Choir Concert, 5:00 pm @ Horizon Performing Arts Center in Moorhead. 

StoryTeller Cancer Benefit, 5:00 pm @ Junkyard Brewery at 1416 1st Ave. N. in Moorhead. Join us from 5:00 to 8:00 pm for a silent auction, prize drawings, remembrance/celebration luminaries, and story sharing. $1 per pint donated to Lend A Hand Up Foundation.

Friday, Jan 31:

CAPLP Housing Outreach, 1:30 pm Fridays and 10:00 am Monday @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Lakes and Prairies Community Action Partnership will host office hours at the library to assist people with housing and support services. For more information, contact Zheyan Mahmod at 218-512-1559.

Soup Feed, 4:00 pm @ Moorhead Masonic Center at 1815 11th St. N. Come to the Moorhead Masonic Family Center 4:00 to 7:00 pm for a warm soup feed. Chili, chicken noodle soup and potato ham soup, bread, & ice cream all for $8 for adults, $4 for children 5-10.

Frostival Winter Mixer at Harold’s, 4:00 pm @ Harold’s on Main in Moorhead. A mix of different events for family and friends such as smores & bonfires, outdoor games, music, children craft project thanks to Healing Arts Revolution, eats from Usher’s House, Triple Ax until 9 pm, live ice sculptures and an outside ice bar made by Chainsaw Dave Belling. 

Moorhead Varsity Girls Hockey, 6:00 pm vs. St. Cloud @ Moorhead Sports Center.

Faculty Recital: Nat Dickey/Trombone, 7:30 pm @ Christiansen Recital Hall at Concordia College. Concordia faculty member Nat Dickey will give a trombone recital.

Saturday, Feb 1:

“Space Quest” Planetarium Presentation, Saturday at 10:00 am and Sunday at 3:00 pm @ MSUM Planetarium. Every show is different because the audience is the guide. Pick from various topics in astronomy- Planets & Solar System, Galactic and Intergalactic space, Space travel, current topics in astronomy, backyard astronomy, and more. While this show is intended for general audiences, it is not geared for very young children. $3-$6.

Frostival: Fun at the “Frozen Fortress,” 11:00 am @ Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead. Embrace the cool of winter with a day of outdoor activities and events, featuring the Moorhead Business Association’s Snow Sculpture Contest, Moorhead Kiwanis Chili Feed, free cross country ski and snowshoe rentals, indoor and outdoor games, a hot chocolate station, a marshmallow roast, and much more frosty fun. Frozen Fortress free. Chili feed is free-$8.

Power-Packed Fitness Dance Party, 1:00 pm @ Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead. Join Dance Choreographer, Cleveland Smith for this 45-minute power-packed fitness dance party. A large variety of music is used along with conditioning for the entire body, broken down into simple dance patters. This format is fun for all ages, shapes, and fitness levels. Free.

Orchestra Senior Honors Concert, 2:00 pm @ Knutson Center Centrum at Concordia College. 

Snowball Dance & Carnival, 6:00 pm @ Sunset Lanes in Moorhead. Enjoy a night out with the family dancing and playing carnival games. $8 per person which includes dance and carnival games. Food and bowling additional.

Flamenco Vivo-Carlota Santana, 7:30 pm @ Hansen Theatre at MSUM. The MSUM Performing Arts Series presents Flamenco Vivo-Carlota Santana, a professional group of dancers and musicians from Spain. Don’t miss this colorful, passionate, exciting and authentic performance of flamenco dance and music. $12-$28.

Sunday, Feb 2:

Boy Scouts Troop 637 18th Annual French Toast Breakfast and Silent Auction, 9:00 am @ St. Joseph’s Church in Moorhead. Best French toast, eggs, sausage, coffee and juice in town. Tickets just $7 at the Door.

Winter Wonderland Free Open Skate, 12:00 pm @ Cullen’s Hockey Center at 707 Main Ave. SE in Moorhead. Scott Tobolt Foundation will provide free skate rentals for 4 to 10-year olds while supplies last. Come early and enjoy lunch from Jay’s Smokin BBQ and visit the vendor booths. 

Winter Wonderland Dog Pack Walk, 1:00 pm @ Hot Dog. Pet Salon at 814 Center Ave. in Moorhead. Nature of the North and Hotdog. Pet Salon are teaming up to host a pack walk along the Red River. Participants would meet at Hotdog. Pet Salon/Nature of the North prior to the winter pack walk and return for nice warm refreshments with their 4-legged friends.

Open Skate, 2:00 pm @ Moorhead Sports Center. Admission is $2 for kids (age 17 and under), $3 for adults, and $5 for family skate. There is limited skate rental available for $1.

MSUM School of Art Colloquium “The Hustle: The First Ten Years After Graduation,” 5:00 pm @ MSUM Center for Business. This event features artist Nicole Soukup, Juror of the Annual MSUM Student Juried Competition. Free.

Tuesday, Feb 4:

Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota, 3:00 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota will be hosting office hours at the library to provide free legal advice on civil (non-criminal) issues to low income families and individuals. They can assist with Minnesota legal issues surrounding housing, family, public benefits and other issues related to critical basic needs. People will be seen on a first come, first serve basis.
