FARGO AIRSHO DISTRIBUTES FUNDS TO COMMUNITY NON-PROFITS

The 2021 Fargo AirSho, held on July 24th and 25th distributed over $90,000 to Fargo-Moorhead charitable organizations and paid volunteer groups.  Favorable weather, good crowds and outstanding aerial acts helped make this event one of the best air shows in its 32 year history.  The 60 plus member volunteer committee put in countless hours to ensure that the air show was a success.

The Navy Blue Angels Flight Team headlined the Fargo AirSho, commanded by Fargo Native Brian Kesselring.  The shows major sponsor, Rad Aerosports, presented the first ever dual performance by a Jet Powered Waco Bi-wing Plane and a Jet Powered Yak 110 Twin Engine Aircraft.  The AirSho also introduced it’s first STEM Expo at the 2021 event.

Over the past three decades, the Fargo AirSho has contributed over $700,000 to a variety of non-profits while providing wholesome family centered entertainment.

NIGHT EXCAVATION AND HAULING UNDERWAY FOR SE MAIN|20 ST|21 ST UNDERPASS PROJECT

MOORHEAD – In order to remove soil from the temporary train tracks, night excavation and hauling will occur at the project site from November 29-December 10.

Crews will work from midnight-10 am to remove soil that is no longer needed from the site. No work will be done on December 4-5 (Saturday and Sunday).

The work will take advantage of frozen hauling routes to remove material during the night. Warm temperatures and afternoon sun thaw the frozen ground and make the routes impassable for soil hauling equipment.

MOORHEAD LIBRARY OFFERING WEEKLY TECHNOLOGY HELP SESSIONS

MOORHEAD – Those struggling to use their smartphone, tablet or computer are invited to take part in free technology help sessions at the Moorhead Public Library. Ask-a-Techspert, the library’s technology assistance program, will be offered weekly beginning December 1 on Wednesdays from 3-4 p.m. at the Moorhead Public Library located at 118 5th St.

Library staff will guide participants through navigating their devices, assist with any issues and demonstrate downloading eBooks and eAudiobooks from the library’s free collection.

“We’re thrilled to be again offering this useful service to the community,” said library director Megan Krueger. “Navigating new technology can be frustrating for people of all ages and our staff is trained and eager to offer assistance with solving problems big and small. We also offer this service on-demand year-round throughout Lake Agassiz Regional Library’s service area, so I hope you’ll stop in for help in any of our locations.”

These sessions are offered free of charge and are open to the public.

IMPROVED WATER SITUATION EASES RESTRICTIONS

MOORHEAD – After months of water use restrictions in Moorhead and Dilworth, Moorhead Public Service has rescinded the mandatory water use limits. Voluntary water restrictions do still apply.

According to MPS, the Red River Watershed’s change back to the Drought Watch Phase represents a significant recovery from summer conditions that required mandatory restrictions. However, the Red River Watershed is still abnormally dry, and continued water conservation efforts are still needed. With this in mind, MPS is rescinding mandatory watering restrictions in favor of continuing forward with voluntary watering restrictions only.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has revised the drought status of the Red River Watershed, relaxing it back into the “drought watch” phase. The change is part of the Statewide Drought Plan.
