SCAM ALERT!
MOORHEAD – Ads from pages not affiliated with Habitat for Humanity are falsely stating that Habitat is offering roof replacements (often for free). These social media ads have shown up across the country and in the FM area.
Please do not click on these ads.
Marketing for any Habitat for Humanity program should come from an official Habitat for Humanity social media account or website.
Our focus is building or rehabilitating homes that we sell to local families with affordable mortgages. While some Habitat affiliates do offer repair services for homeowners, Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity does not offer these services in the Fargo Moorhead area.
ZINE WORKSHOP SCHEDULED AT THE MOORHEAD PUBLIC LIBRARY
MOORHEAD – The Moorhead Public Library will host a workshop on the topic of zines, to be offered in partnership with the Red River Creatives Collective. The group will present on their self-published and distributed zine, “The Northern Mirror,” and then demonstrate how to create a DIY zine to take home. The program is scheduled Monday, March 31 from 6-8 p.m. at the Moorhead Public Library, 118 5th St. S.
“The Northern Mirror” is a collaborative zine which contains local artists’ submissions to create a rich tapestry of the Fargo/Moorhead area. It has been produced quarterly since 2021. Essays, poems, reviews, photos, illustrations, and community resources are bound in the zine which is then distributed around the area for free-will donation. A zine (pronounced “zeen”) is a self-published, non-commercial print work usually produced in small, limited batches. Zines can encompass many topics, from music and art to politics or memoir, in any form: narrative, journalistic, comic, or abstract. The content may include any combination of words and imagery.
All are welcome to join the presentation and workshop. Refreshments will be provided.
