CENTER AVENUE FROM 8 STREET TO 14 STREET TO CLOSE ON SATURDAY MORNING FOR ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
The St Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 11:00 am. Road closures will begin starting at 9:30 am.
MOORHEAD – Center Avenue from 8 Street to 14 Street will be closed starting at 9:30 am to allow floats to stage for the parade. Center Avenue will be closed for all traffic from the bridge to 14 Street, in addition to the north turn lane at 8 Street and Main Avenue starting at 10:30 am until the parade moves into Fargo.
There will be no parking along Center Avenue along the route, staging area or in private lots.
Those looking to do a packet pickup for the 5k and 10k at Swing Barrel should enter the side alley street on 1 Ave and 8 St just north of the Napa auto parts store and exit east on Center Ave. See map below for details.

FARM TRANSITION AND ESTATE PLANNING WORKSHOP PLANNED
University of Minnesota Extension will provide full-day workshops and two-day multi-generational retreats across Minnesota on farm transition and estate planning.
These full-day workshops and two-day multi-generational retreats are all free and include meals. The workshops and retreats cover farm goal setting; business structures; farm operation and management succession ideas; as well as estate planning and retirement; family communicating; and additional farm transition educational resources. Estate planning is a crucial part of the transition process, as well. The workshop also includes a discussion of Wills and trusts, life insurance, power-of-attorney, long-term health care issues, and more.
“There are many things to think of and plan for in estate planning, farm succession and farm transfer. These workshops and retreats are filled with practical information and strategies to help farm families begin the process of transferring the farm business to the next generation or a new operator,” says Susanne Hinrichs, Extension educator. “Farmers and ranchers at any stage, from beginner to mid-career, to entering retirement can benefit from the workshop materials.”
