MOORHEAD VETERANS DAY SCHEDULE
MOORHEAD – City of Moorhead Offices: City offices will be closed for Veterans Day on Monday, November 11 and reopen on Tuesday, November 12.
Garbage/Recycling: Monday (November 11) garbage and recycling routes will be collected on Tuesday. All other routes from Tuesday – Friday will be collected on their regularly scheduled day. Please be aware the shift in route schedules may cause early or delayed collection this week; set your trash out by 4 am to ensure it is collected.
MATBUS: There will be regular MATBUS and MAT Paratransit service on most routes on November 11; There will be no service on NDSU routes 31, 32, 34, and NDSU On-Demand. MATBUS Administrative Offices will be closed.

FARGO VETERANS DAY SCHEDULE
FARGO -The City of Fargo offices, Fargo Cass Public Health, Municipal Court and MATBUS administrative offices will be closed for the Veterans Day holiday on Monday, November 11.
All Fargo Public Library locations will be closed Monday, November 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.
City MATBUS routes will be unaffected by the holiday. NDSU routes will not operate on Monday, November 11.
All garbage and recycling collections will run on schedule. Residents are reminded to always place garbage carts and recycling bins out for collection by 8 a.m. on their normal garbage day. The Fargo Sanitary Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Facility will be open during normal hours on Monday, November 11.
The public lobbies of Fargo Police Department Headquarters (105 25th St. N.) and Fargo Fire Department Station 1 (637 NP Ave.) will be closed on Monday, November 11. However, full police and fire protection will continue during the holiday.

DRUG INVESTIGATION LEADS TO FELONY ARRESTS
MOORHEAD – The ongoing investigation leads to the arrest of two adult males transporting illegal drugs from the Minneapolis / St. Paul area and distributing them in our area.
Based on an investigation that began in June of 2024, information was obtained that an organization had been actively transporting illegal drugs from the Minneapolis / St. Paul metro area to Moorhead, where they would distribute them. On Sunday, November 3, investigators were able to stop the two males in a vehicle as they were approaching the Moorhead area. During the stop, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and morphine pills were seized.
In total, (458) grams of methamphetamine, (48) grams of cocaine, (101) grams of marijuana, and (12) morphine pills. The street value is estimated at $15,000.
Tyler Kania, 35, of Moorhead, MN, and Laquedrick Lemel As-Sidiq, 34, of St. Louis Park, MN, were arrested on felony drug charges. They were transported to the Clay County Correctional Facility. As-Sidiq has a past Federal conviction for drug distribution in Minnesota with a gang identified as “Taliban/Young N’ Thuggin.” Members of the gang frequently traveled around Minnesota, including our community, to distribute illegal drugs. As-Sidiq is still on Federal Probation for those crimes.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol assisted the Moorhead Police Department.

MOORHEAD MAN ARRESTED AFTER FLEEING AND RAMMING SQUAD CARS
MOORHEAD – Saige Cogger, age 19, of Moorhead, is being held after a domestic investigation led to Cogger ramming a squad car, fleeing, and purposely ramming another squad car during the pursuit.
MOORHEAD – On Saturday, November 2, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of 9 Street South for a domestic situation. While officers spoke with the male, Saige Cogger, he was uncooperative and argumentative. Cogger purposely backed into a squad car and fled the scene. While another officer began pursuing Cogger, he would deliberately ram the squad car. Cogger eventually returned to the initial scene and was taken into custody.
Cogger has been transported to the Clay County Corrections Facility on multiple charges. One officer, who was pursuing the suspect, did seek medical attention for pain after their squad was struck twice by Cogger’s vehicle. Two squad cars were also damaged during this incident.

NORTHPORT LIBRARY TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE
FARGO – Due to planned renovation projects including new carpet installation and a door replacement project, the Northport Library branch at 2714 Broadway N. will be closed starting Thursday, Nov. 7. The library is tentatively expected to re-open Wednesday, Nov. 20.
The exterior book drop at the Northport branch will remain open during construction, and all items on hold for library patrons will be made available for pick up at the downtown Main Library during this time.
The library’s Casual Crafters event for November has been moved to the downtown Main Library and is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 18, at 5 p.m.
Children’s events at the Northport Library are cancelled during the closure, including Children’s Storytime and Crafternoons.

BAKERY TO HOLD SPECIAL STORYTIME AT THE MOORHEAD PUBLIC LIBRARY
MOORHEAD – The Moorhead Public Library will host a “Curious About Careers” Storytime Saturday, Nov. 9 featuring a special guests from Black Cat Bakery. The program will include a cookie decorating activity as well as baking-themed stories read by bakers from Black Cat Bakery, which is a new bakery located in Moorhead.
The monthly “Curious About Careers” series is geared for youth ages 3 and up and allows kids to explore what they want to be when they grow up. The program will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Moorhead Public Library and is offered free-of-charge.
