OFF ROAD BIKE PATHS TEMPORARILY CLOSED ON SOUTH SIDE OF MB JOHNSON
The Buffalo Red River Watershed District is doing a project to stabilize Snakey Creek and install erosion control measures at MB Johnson Park, 3601 11the St. N. The decision has been made to close the southern half of the off road bike trail system for the safety of the public and the construction crew. All other trails and roads will remain open.
COPS & KIDS BASEBALL GAME TAKING RESERVATIONS
Registration is open for the 2024 Cops and Kids Baseball game, taking place August 13th at 5:30pm at Matson Field in Moorhead. Any player 13-15 is eligible to participate at no cost. Moorhead’s 16th annual Night to Unite in Moorhead is coming up Tuesday, Aug. 6, and there’s still time for neighborhoods to register their get-togethers. REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR AFTER-SCHOOL ADVENTURES
The Moorhead Parks and Recreation Department has opened registration for this fall’s After-School Adventures.
The program – which is open to boys and girls from 5 to 12 years old — runs from Sept. 9 to Dec. 20 at Village Green Park. Sessions are scheduled on weekdays from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
Participants will experience a variety of enjoyable activities including games, sports, science projects, and expression through art, music, and drama. Homework assistance will be available, as well as a chance for socialization and making new friends!

AMERICAN CRYSTAL SUGAR DONATES TO FIRE DEPARTMENT
American Crystal Sugar has presented a donation of $5,000 to the Moorhead Fire Department through its Community Roots program.
The funds will be used to provide fire crews with advanced confined-space training.We plan to use these funds to provide our Fire Crews with more advanced Confined Space training
The department spent three days last week conducting the training at the Crystal Sugar factory in Moorhead. Firefighter Olson led our the Technical Rescue Training program, guiding the crews through scenarios that were as close to real-life as possible.
HCSCC SCHEDULES ‘HISTORY HUSTLE’ 5K RUN
The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County is planning a 5K run to raise funds for its local history programs.
The “History Hustle” fundraiser is scheduled Oct. 12, starting at 8 a.m. at the Hjemkomst Center, then following the river to Homestead Park and returning to the Hjemkomst. Participants will receive complimentary admission to the museum, an event t-shirt and a handcrafted medal. In addition to the race, attendees will have the chance to tour the historic Bergquist Cabin in Homestead Park. Registration is $35. To register, go to www.hcscconline.org/events.html.
