A Lot Is Going On in FM Area

Veteran’s Corner

Fargo Memorial Honor GuardAs we near the end of July, I would like to give our supporters an update of happenings.
First. the Fargo National Cemetery building project is still plugging along. We are in negotiations with the Veterans Adminiostration over final design and layout. Also, the actual placement of the building — with expansion plans, there is talk of how this will work. The process is long and slow. Want something easy and needed to be drawn out? Just add the government.
Next, parade season. Marching with the honor guard is a excellent duty. Carrying and guarding the symbol of our great republic cannot be emphasized enough. When you see the flag approaching, stand up and remove your hat. We often remind people of flag etiquette and proper homage to the symbol of our country. Also feel free to remind those around you what to do. It only takes a few people to get this going.
Last, the area Veterans groups will be extremely busy this weekend. We having the Vietnam Traveling wall coming to the American Legion in Moorhead, it is a one-third-size replica of the actual wall in Washinton, D.C. Please check the Legion’s Facebook page and website for further info. The Airsho is also in full swing, along with a large fundraiser for the Honor Flight at the Moorhead Legion. As you know they rely on donations to bring our Veterans on a once in a lifetime trip. First class, red carpet treatment.
Have a great week, and god bless America.
