Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying
Robbery Suspects

FARGO, N.D. – On April 17, 2011 at approximately 3:38 a.m., an employee at the Super 8 Motel located at 3518 Interstate Blvd reported a robbery. The employee on duty said two masked males, one white male and one black male, went into the store and demanded money. The black male displayed a handgun and the white male displayed a knife. The motel employee gave the suspects an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Fargo Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the two suspects in this robbery. If you have any information related this incident please contact the Fargo Police Tip Line at (701) 241-5777.

Flood Yard Damage Restoration Program

FARGO, N.D. – The City of Fargo has established a yard restoration program to repair damage caused in the construction of primary sandbag levees that protected the city during the 2011 flood. Eligible costs may include vegetation or tree replacement, irrigation system repairs, damaged concrete or paver blocks, and other incidentals related to sandbag placement. The program does not cover the public boulevard and is limited to private property. To be eligible, the property owner must have had a claim filed with their own insurance company. Claims must be submitted to the City of Fargo Planning Department by June 30, 2011. The application form and additional information are available online at http://www.cityoffargo.com/flood.

Fargo Board of
Equalization To
Reconvene

FARGO, N.D. (April 26, 2011) – The Fargo City Board of Equalization will reconvene on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 7:30 a.m. in the Commission Room in City Hall, 200 3rd Street North, Fargo.

The City Commission met initially as the Board of Equalization on April 12 to equalize the property tax valuations in the city. The board received several appeals at the initial meeting which were referred back to the Assessment Department. The Board of Equalization will take action on those appeals at the May 3 meeting.

If there are any new appeals that come before the City Board of Equalization at the meeting on May 3, they will be forwarded to the County Board of Equalization. The County Board will meet June 6, 2011 at 3:30 p.m.
