A Moorhead location is one of ten iconic Minnesota travel destinations featured in Explore Minnesota's "Checkpoint MN" winter scavenger hunt. The Hopperstad Stave Church at the Hjemkomst Center joined the country's second oldest brewery, a 218,000 acre national park and TCF Bank Stadium as notable winter travel destinations.

“Each checkpoint destination offers a unique experience that can be found only in Minnesota this season," said John Edman, director of Explore Minnesota. "The checkpoints are a simple addition to a planned winter vacation, or good excuse to plan new trips around them.”

CheckpointMN.com features a map and information about each checkpoint. Residents and travelers are encouraged to share photos on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest using the hashtag #OnlyinMN for a chance at over $35,000 in prizes, including winter gear and Minnesota getaways. The contest runs through January 31, 2016. Explore Minnesota is the state of Minnesota's tourism promotion office.
